聖葛斯默及聖達彌盎（殉道）

相傳：葛斯默及達彌盎被認為是一對雙胞胎兄弟，原籍阿拉伯，懸壼濟世；在敘利亞一帶，一面行醫，一面傳揚福音；約在300年左右，教難時殉道。按古書記載，兩位殉道烈士的墳墓，位於敘利亞的祺利，建有聖堂一座，以尊敬他們。後來他們的敬禮傳到羅馬，而後遍及全球教會；羅馬感恩經中也提及他們的名字。

上主，在今天聖葛斯默和聖達彌盎的殉道紀念日，我們歌頌你，因為你以不可言喻的眷顧，賜給了他們永恆的榮耀；求你也不斷賞賜我們你的幫助。因你的聖子、我們的主耶穌基督，他和你及聖神，是唯一天主，永生永王。亞孟。

Saints Cosmas and Damian, Martyrs

Cosmas and Damian were third century Arabian-born twin brothers who embraced Christianity and practised medicine and surgery without a fee. This led them to being named anargyroi; by this, they attracted many to the Christian faith. They reputedly cured blindness, fever, paralysis and reportedly expelled a breast serpent. They were arrested by Lysias, governor of Cilicia (modern day Çukurova, Turkey) during the Diocletian persecution because of their faith and fame as healers. 

Collect

May you be magnified, O Lord, 

by the revered memory of your Saints Cosmas and Damian, 

for with providence beyond words 

you have conferred on them everlasting glory, 

and on us, your unfailing help. 

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, 

who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, 

one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
