聖熱羅尼莫（葉理諾）（司鐸、聖師）
聖熱羅尼莫約在公元340年，生於達馬西亞（今意大利北部）。他在羅馬求學，並受洗，開始度苦修生活。
他在安提約基雅晉鐸，又往君士坦丁堡研究聖經。後返羅馬，充當教宗達馬穌（366-384）的秘書，並著手把聖經翻譯成拉丁文，及促進隱修生活。
聖熱羅尼莫才德兼備，性格剛烈，嫉惡如仇。他的文章針砭時弊，得罪多人，致四面受敵。聖人在教宗達瑪穌去世後，便潛居白冷，繼續把聖經校譯成拉丁文，並曾多方面協助解決教會各種難題，尤其攻斥異端。
聖人著作等身，尤以聖經註釋著名。420年，聖人於白冷安逝。
聖熱羅尼莫校譯的拉丁文聖經，通行於拉丁教會，俗稱「拉丁通行本」，使教會受益良多。聖人名言：「誰不認識聖經，就是不認識基督。」
聖人與聖奧思定、聖安博，及聖額我略，並列為拉丁教會的四大聖師。

天主，你曾恩賜聖熱羅尼莫司鐸，熱愛聖經，活出聖言；求你使你的子民，也常能從你的聖言，獲得豐富的滋養，找到生命的泉源。因你的聖子、我們的主耶穌基督，他和你及聖神，是唯一天主，永生永王。亞孟。
Saint Jerome, Priest and Doctor of the Church
Born in Dalmatia, St. Jerome (342-420) studied in Rome. Living a monastic life, he traveled to Syria where he was ordained.
Later, he returned to Rome as secretary of Pope Damasus, who commissioned him to revise the Latin texts of books of the Bible.
After completing this task, he stayed in Bethlehem, and translated the entire Bible into Latin; his work Known as the Vulgate, was adopted by the Latin Church as the official edition of Scripture.

O God, who gave the Priest Saint Jerome
a living and tender love for Sacred Scripture,
grant that your people
may be ever more fruitfully nourished by your Word
and find in the fount of life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
