聖安德肋宗徒
聖安德肋生於貝特賽達，是伯多祿的哥哥，原是加里肋亞的漁夫，先為若翰門徒，後跟隨基督，並介紹弟弟伯多祿追隨基督（瑪4:18-19；若1:35-42）。在耶穌的增餅奇蹟中，是聖安德肋把帶著餅及魚的兒童，介紹給基督（若6:8-10），他也曾與斐理伯，代表一些外邦人求見基督（若12:20-22）。
相傳他在聖神降臨後，往小亞細亞及希臘一帶，宣講福音，並約在60年，於阿卡雅（今希臘）被釘死在X型十字架上。希臘教會奉聖安德肋宗徒為主保。

上主，正如你曾使聖安德肋宗徒，作你教會的宣講者和牧者，求你使他在你台前，也常常為我們轉求。因你的聖子、我們的主耶穌基督，他和你及聖神，是唯一天主，永生永王。亞孟。
Saint Andrew, Apostle
Born at Bethsaida, St. Andrew was a disciple of St. John the Baptist before he became a follower of Christ, to whom he also brought his brother, St. Peter. According to tradition, St. Andrew preached in Greece and was martyred on an X-shaped cross.
Collect
We humbly implore your majesty, O Lord,
that, just as the blessed Apostle Andrew
was for your Church a preacher and pastor,
so he may be for us a constant intercessor before you.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
