聖若翰喇沙 (司鐸)
1651年，聖人出生於法國蘭斯城（Rheims），晉鐸後，專心創立學校，致力教育窮苦兒童。他召集同道，創立基督學校修士會，備嘗艱辛，提倡新教育運動，以基督精神，推廣普及教育，培育青少年，德學兼備，使學校不單是學術研究之所，更是生活指南和精神建設的培育場所。1719年安逝於盧昂。1900年，教宗比約十世尊聖若翰喇沙為青少年教師主保。

Saint John Baptist de la Salle, Priest
Born in Rheims, France, St. John (1651-1719) is known as the Father of Modern Pedagogy. He opened free schools for poor children and therein introduced new teaching methods. He organized the Brothers of the Christian Schools, which has made great contributions to popular education.

O God, who chose Saint John Baptist de la Salle to educate young Christians, raise up, we pray, teachers in your Church ready to devote themselves wholeheartedly to the human and Christian formation of the young. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
